Kiev International Furniture Forum KIFF 2010, the main event of the industry, ceased its triumphal run on March 13, 2010, filling its visitors and participants with sensation of stability, confidence in their future and visible growth of furniture market activities.

It should be admitted that design and creativity are the main elements in the process of modern furniture production, as well as in ultramodern interior formation. That’s why cooperation of furniture manufacturers, architects and designers is of great importance to the industry.

The results of such cooperation were brilliantly demonstrated by the exhibitors of KIFF 2010 and MTKT Innovation 2010 exhibitions, held on March 10-13, 2010, thus creating a unique event in Ukrainian furniture industry. About 500 companies occupying 30,000 sq.m of exhibition space, represented 11 countries of the world, namely: Ukraine, Italy, Romania, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Russia, Austria, France, Belarus and Estonia.

KIFF 2010 has a high international reputation and is the main instrument used by foreign manufacturers for developing their business in Ukraine.  The truly international character of the Forum is confirmed by participation of the major foreign expositions:  Italy (the exposition organizer is ICE, Institute of Foreign Trade of Italy), Romania (the exposition organizer is Association of Furniture Manufacturers of Romania), Turkey (the exposition organizer is FOREM FUAR YAPIM Ve Hizmetleri Ldt.Sti.).

Kiev International Furniture Forum 2010 demonstrates that the interest of foreign companies towards Ukrainian market has been continually growing, leading to furniture importation rise, thus indicating aspiration of Ukrainian customer to quality, refined and stylish products, as well as considerable capacity of Ukrainian market.

Kyiv International Contract Fair, JSC, the organizer of the Forum, initiated creation of Ukrainian Associations of Furniture Manufacturers and thoroughly supported national furniture and furniture components manufacturers, facilitated the development of Ukrainian furniture market in general.

Traditionally, the leading Ukrainian manufacturers participate in the Forum, and this year was no exception as well. The new collections, ideas and developments were represented by INTERSTYLE™ (Clasum Factory); AKMI-MEBEL, Ltd; NEW STYLE, JSC; GERBOR-HOLDING, Ltd; LVS, Ltd; RODA, Trade House; ART METAL FURNITURA, Ltd; VELAM™, etc.

During the four days of KIFF 2010 and MTKT Innovation 2010, the exhibitions were attended by more than 32,000 visitors, who could check by themselves that this exhibition platform dictated future tendencies of industry development, reflected the demand and supply dynamics and formed the notion of “interior of the future”.

Due to significant part of international participants, KIFF 2010 gave the national manufacturers an opportunity to position their products side by side to the famous international brands.

One of the most efficient marketing instruments is holding different competitions, workshops, presentations and seminars within the frames of the Forum.

Thus, the distinctive events of KIFF 2010 were:

• Best Furniture of Ukraine 2010 competition, the aim of which is rewarding the best samples of locally produced furniture, familiarization of wide circles of specialists, visitors, mass media representatives with the achievements of the competition participants. It is also a unique opportunity for the competitors to use the prizes and diplomas for their further advertising purposes, thus raising the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of their sales;
• View into the future, competition gallery  of authors’ interior items, furniture and décor, being the unique event in Ukraine;         
• Ceremony of awarding the participants of Innovation Premiere project, targeting at promotion of new materials and  technologies for furniture production and interior decoration in Ukrainian market;
• Workshops of Massimo Papiri and Paolo Portoghesi, the famous Italian architects; 
• Round table: Scenarios of development of Ukrainian furniture industry under market conditions.

To sum it up, for now Кiev International Furniture Forum has become the major Ukrainian platform for demonstrating the new achievements of furniture business and the main instrument for promoting these products into the national and international market.
